Senior Leadership Panel
October 20 | We Energies, Milwaukee

Wisconsin's utilities are in the middle of a real leadership transition right now — not five years out, happening now. This quarter's meeting brings together senior utility leaders for a candid conversation on what that means for workforce strategy, while the people who've built these organizations are still in the room to talk about it. It's a rare chance to hear directly from decision-makers, not just implementers, and to bring your own questions to the table.

Why this is timely:

  • Executive succession has moved from a back-of-mind HR item to a top-tier business risk across the industry this year — organizations are actively working to support departing senior leaders through the transition, not just backfill the seat
  • NRECA is running active programming on this exact issue for utility co-ops, including a dedicated podcast series this summer on executive succession planning
  • Nationally, companies now rank the failure to attract talent as one of their top four business risks, and a third report already losing ground because of it
  • The industry needs to replace and grow the workforce by roughly 32 million workers over the next decade — a scale that starts at the top, not just in the field
